Reading/Writing extended tags?

Mar 11 at 9:45 AM
Is there a way to read & write extended/custom tags from media files? (i.e. those custom tags that can be added through the Extended Tags window of mp3tag).

Hello jbradshaw7,

Once again, thank you for your interest in ATL.NET.

As of today, there is currently no support for extended tags. As you've probably seen, only the most standard fields are accessible via getters and setters.

However, I'm currently working on the following features on a local, non-synchronized branch :

1/ Extended tags reading (being a prerequisite for point 2/)
2/ Metadata writing, editing and deleting
3/ Minor refactoring and optimizations

=> ID3v1 is done and ID3v2 is being tested. However, there still is a long way to go for all formats to be implemented, since many of them feature specific quirks that need to be solved thoroughly (unsynchronization, tree structures, CRCs... you name it !). Anyway, I'll let you know as things progress.

Out of curiosity, what are you using ATL for ?

Best Regards,
